Steve Johnson graduated in 2010 from The University of Minnesota - Duluth with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education. While attending The University of Minnesota - Duluth he studied Music Education along with Trumpet and Organ performance. During his college career, he was an active member of the Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble I, Pep Band, Marching Band, Brass Quintet and Trumpet Ensemble. He also served as organist in numerous churches in the Duluth area while studying organ performance and continues to perform on Organ and Trumpet in the Minneapolis area.

 

Steve has been teaching at Champlin Park High School since the fall of 2012. His curricular teaching responsibilities include Concert Band and Varsity Band. His additional responsibilities have included directing the Marching Band, Pit Orchestra Director, Pep Band, Double Reed Ensemble and Auditorium Manager. During his tenure as the Marching Band Director, the Marching Rebels have made appearances in the 4th of July Parade in Philadelphia, Youth in Music Minnesota Championships (2015 class champions) and the 2016 Liberty Bowl.

 

Steve is a member of Minnesota Music Educators Association (MMEA), Minnesota Band Directors Association (MBDA), International Trumpet Guild (ITG) and The American Guild of Organists (AGO).
