Willem Villerius is a Minneapolis native and has been playing the tuba since 6th grade, taking lessons from Rose Brzezinski Lewis. He currently attends Washburn High School, participating in both the school's Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band, playing the tuba and bass trombone respectively. As well as school ensembles, Willem was also accepted to play tuba with the Symphony Orchestra of the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies for the 2017-18 season and has played with the Seward Community Band.
Besides his passion for music, Willem enjoys foreign language and is fairly proficiency in French and Italian. He enjoys contra-dancing with his friends on the weekends, biking around the creeks and lakes of Minneapolis, and having a conversation over weekend lunch with his parents. Willem is excited with his opportunity playing with the Twin Cities Brass Band and looks forward to the future of his musical endeavors.
